Gaming, Streaming & Speaking Up: BurkeyMediaClips’ Journey with Mental Health

by Baltic Apparel

In the ever-growing world of content creation and streaming, gaming has become more than just a hobby—it’s a safe space, a form of therapy, and in many cases, a lifeline. For creators like BurkeyMediaClips, gaming has been a powerful tool for connection, healing, and self-expression.

It all began with a moment of encouragement.
“I started creating content two years ago. I’ve always played games, but one night I was playing a horror game and my woman was watching. She said, ‘You’re funny baby, you should start streaming—it’ll help clear your mind.’ That pushed me to give it a go.”

Finding Belonging in the Streaming World

For someone who lives with dyslexia, going live for the world to see might seem intimidating. But streaming opened the door to unexpected support.
“I didn’t think I could stream because I have dyslexia and can’t read or spell like other people. But when I did my first stream and started talking, I told people about it—and they didn’t care. They were just there for the vibes.”

That sense of community is what keeps him coming back.
“I don’t really have a set style—every stream is different. I just want people to have a safe place where they can talk, help each other, and have fun.”

And those moments of community shine through in unforgettable ways.
“The other night, people just kept sending gifts, and I hit one million likes. The chat was full of people talking to each other and with me. It felt like everyone was in the same room.”

Gaming, Mental Health & Baltic Apparel

Gaming isn’t just entertainment—it’s been a major coping mechanism in Burkey’s mental health journey.
“I have really bad mental health and suicidal tendencies. Some days are harder than others. Before streaming, I’d just play games alone, chill in my room, then go to bed. Every day felt the same. My life felt pointless.”

At one of his lowest points, things nearly came to a tragic end.
“I’ve faced many mental health challenges—at one point I was in hospital after trying to end my life. People say, ‘Talk about what’s on your mind’—but sometimes you just can’t. Gaming helped me block things out. Now I stream and try my best to help others.”

This personal mission is why teaming up with Baltic Apparel felt like the perfect fit.
“I’m deeply honoured to work with Baltic Apparel. It’s for a brilliant cause—mental health. It’s still not talked about enough, especially for men. We grow up being told to be tough and never show weakness. But that has to change.”

The brand’s message and purpose deeply resonate with him.
“The clothes are well made, at a great price, and they stand for something real. I support the cause 100%.”

The Power of Vulnerability

For creators and gamers, especially men, vulnerability can feel like a weakness. But Burkey sees it as a strength.
“It’s important to talk about your mental health so you know you’re not alone. Sometimes you don’t even need advice—you just need someone to listen or give you a hug. And that’s okay.”

He offers this advice to anyone struggling in silence:
“Never give up. If you love streaming and the views aren’t there yet, that’s okay—you’ll get there. You have to crawl before you walk.”

Baltic Apparel is proud to collaborate with creators like BurkeyMediaClips—creators who turn their pain into purpose, build communities from compassion, and speak out when silence becomes too heavy to carry alone.

Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or simply trying to make it through the day—you’re not alone.
